My Bio

I want this campaign to be the voice of the people and people want common sense solutions to our most foundational issues; education, healthcare and economy. I want to help build a better Oklahoma by focusing on fully funding public education, making it equitable and accessible to all students from Pre-K to through college. I want to fill these schools with excellent educators who are paid what they're worth and are treated like professionals. We also have to have accessible and affordable healthcare for ALL Oklahomans that includes mental health care. Hospitals and clinics are closing leaving Oklahomans vulnerable and this is unacceptable. For a thriving economy, lawmakers have to put workers first and provide the support they need to do their important work. Working families need paid family leave, affordable child care, and safe working environments. We were never meant to live to work. Right now people are working multiple jobs and just trying to survive. I want to see Oklahomans thriving! I want to represent the needs of my community and create comprehensive strategic policies to give Oklahomans their lives back.

My Key Issues

Education Legacy Investment Bill

  1. Raise teacher salary by $10,000 annually and tie salaries annually to the regional average to be reviewed annually. Protect teacher retirement funds through constitutional amendment making it untouchable by the legislature.
  2. Reduce class size to a maximum of 15 students in Elementary, 20 students in Middle/High School.
  3. Create pathway for additional support staff to address social emotional well-being. SEL should be evidence based and have a universal application in public schools Pre-K through 12th grades.
  4. Incentive programs for daycares to implement an early reading readiness program.

Health Professional Shortage Areas

  1. Create incentive program to address areas in the state considered HPSAs. Program should include funding for incentives for health professionals to relocate to shortage areas, training and recruiting in these areas through area high schools, community colleges and technical schools. Incentive consideration should also include preference for health professionals who are already living in that area and are willing to stay for a minimum of 5 years.

Paid Parental Leave

  1. Paid parental leave for all new parents, including adoptive parents, for a minimum of 8 weeks. Leave is for new moms and dads. Parental leave should include regular pay and benefits during the leave period. Foster parents are eligible for an 8 week parental leave every 2 years to be used at their discretion.
